Von Munchhausen

This friendly little boat took us up and down at the Schiffshebewerk Niederfinow. We were amongst the first onboard and got prime seats on the front row at the top of the boat. I have no idea why the boat is named von Munchhausen, but it was a fun little tour that lasted a little more than an hour. For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.

  1. Nice little boat. Any relation to the famous baron is purely circumstantial.

  5. Nothing like a boat trip and nice to see the Germans enjoy it as much as the Engllish do

  7. That must be nice. Is the boat really big enough for 148 people, as it says on the side?

    1. I suppose it could hold that many people, but I'm sure many of them would have to stand! The boat was far from full during our tour.

  11. The name is a two edged sword. On the one hand it about a character who has wild adventures, but on the other hand it also associated with a mental illness called Munchhausen by proxy. I assume they were thinking of positive adventures.
